- 300 Baby / Small Leeches Type: "Hirudo Medicinalis". This is one of our most popular leech products. While we're not sure why Hirudotherapy patients, spas, and leech clinics purchase this product, it is highly sought after. Baby leeches are sometimes as thin as pins or needles and have recently hatched from their mother's cocoon. Most leeches cannot pierce human skin on their own. If you plan to feed them until they grow up to be cosmetic or small leeches, you need to allow a larger leech to take the first bite, after which the pups can latch on and feed at the same bite site. Leeches can potentially be kept in cold water and cared for as pets without feeding for a while, until they become slightly larger and more ready to bite human skin. However, by keeping them without feeding, you run the risk of losing a small percentage of them in the process. We recommend purchasing puppy leeches only if you feel confident in knowing how to care for these tiny bloodsuckers, as they may not be able to bite at first.
- Upon arrival you need to immediately transfer the leeches and place them in a jar of cold water. You can use rainwater or tap water.
- If there is a problem with your order, please send us a photo on the day of delivery and we will compensate for the damage.
